The ATF electronic 4473, also known as the e4473, is an online version of the Form 4473 that is used by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to record firearms acquisitions and dispositions. The e4473 is an alternative to the paper version of the form and allows firearms transactions to be completed electronically.

The e4473 is used to ensure that firearms are not sold to individuals who are prohibited from owning them, such as felons or individuals with a history of mental illness. The form includes questions about the buyer’s background and criminal history, as well as information about the firearm being purchased.

To complete the e4473, the seller and buyer must have access to the internet and must register with the ATF. The seller must then enter the required information about the buyer and the firearm into the e4473 system. The buyer must then review and confirm the information provided.

Pawnshops and other firearms dealers are required to keep a copy of the e4473 on file for at least 20 years. The form must also be provided to the ATF upon request.

The e4473 is an efficient and convenient way to complete firearms transactions and ensure compliance with federal law. If you are involved in a firearms transaction, consider using the e4473 to streamline the process and reduce the risk of errors.
